Anything important in life is worth doing well. Doing right. That is also true for the celebration of the sacraments of our faith. For that reason we ask that the congregation and families take an active role in preparing for sacraments.
In the Baptismal ritual we hear that “parents are the first and best teachers for their children in the ways of faith”. We offer baptismal preparation for parents: it is an opportunity to review their own faith and to meet other parents. Chances are they will be interacting with one another for years to come. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation involve parents and children together and separately. Confirmation finds young adults sharing their faith and involving their sponsors in the process of witnessing to Jesus Christ. Finally, marriage preparation takes place over the course of six months. Our parish is committed to do everything possible to assist couples in making sure they have a solid foundation in faith and in their relationship before embarking upon life together.
